Moondance Quilt Directions 48" x 48"

Read all directions first. Pre wash fabrics and iron. All measurements below include a 1/4" seam allowance.

Cutting your fabric:

Cutting the Fat Quarters
Cut each fat quarter into 4 7/8" squares - you will need 12 squares per fat quarter.

Cut all squares into half square triangles. You will have 144 half square triangles when finished.

Quilt Layout:

Layout your triangles per this diagram. When you sew your quilt top together, sew two triangles together, layout the quilt top again and then sew the quilt together, row by row. All together, you will need 72 squares of yellow/peach, 24 squares of green/yellow and 48 squares of peach/green. Within each four triangle square, the same fabrics are used.

Backing and Batting:
You will need a piece of backing and batting 55" x 55".
You can review our available battings here.
Quilt your quilt as desired.

Binding:
You can use the left over strips from the fat quarters for a multi-color binding. Cut the 22" x approximately 2 1/2" strips down to 22" x 2" strips. Sew enough together to create 106" of binding. If purchasing separately, you will need 12" of fabric.
